1993 or 94?

I have a D-4 NT that I am looking for some information on. The date stamped on the inside of body is Dec. 28, 1993. I understand that is the date that the body was assembled and not the date the entire guitar was finished. Is that correct? I am thus assuming the guitar is a 1994 model, because I can't see how they would finish between Dec 28 and Jan 1. It doesn't bother me one way or the other, just wondering if I am assuming correctly.

I read the serial number as AD040190. Can't really get in to get a pic of the date on the block but it is Dec. 28, 1993.

The serial number chart dates this as a 1994, Rhys. but that's because the previous year 1993 seemed to have a completely different type of serial number (CF006xxx). I'm going to say 1994. But, the published charts are often not great, Rhys.

Thanks so much! I also noticed that 1993s began with CF rather than AD, which added to my assumptions based on the late December date stamp. But I also read about the dating charts not being entirely dependable, so I thought I would ask.

Doesn't matter, I thoroughly enjoy the guitar whether it is 30 or 31 years old! It is a mainstay for me for outdoor jams. And I just love Guild necks - they fit perfectly in my left hand.
