With the way acoustic pickup technology has progressed, I always wonder if the pickups used by Guild in the 1980s and 1990s are obsolete now (read: don't so as good as the new stuff).

It has such a great rosette I wish they'd left the pickguard off. That bothers me when almost half the rosette is obscured by the PG.

Unquestionably outdated...years ago Fishman didn't even remember they'd made the TASS system...which you wouldn't want in anything.

An interesting one, I guess not really useful as acoustic but only plugged in. Only 2.5" deep body! Very few info only. It's the "Standard" version of the Prestige, there were also two other models, the Classic and the Excellence.

Here's my Prestige "Classic":

Pretty sure it's an X-175/X-500 with a flat top! It doesn't sound all that bad acoustically.

Now the really hard one to find is the bass version which was a B-500CE.

Weren't X-500's 17"lower bout? (At least that's what Jan '87 price list says:

Prestiges were 16" lower bout. Always thought they were part of the F45ce evolutionary tree.
