I am involved in an unexpected divorce after 35 years of marriage. The house is sold so I'm packing everything up for a relocation from NY to SC. Low and behold I find my original receipt and warranty acknowledgement for my 1978 Guild D25CH! Now that I have these documents I figure let me give Guild/Fender an email asking about a neck reset since this guitar has a very slight bow to the lower bout and the action is slightly high with the saddle already adjusted down as low as it can go. I've been told it will need a neck reset soon by a local luthier.
With my documentation in hand last night I emailed Guild asking if it will be covered by warranty. Guess what? They said to bring the guitar to an authorized Fender repair center with the documenatation and the luthier will make the determination if it will be covered. I was aghast.
I am in the process of moving to South Carolina from NY so will do so after the move. I will keep everyone informed. I'm just amazed that they even considered it under warranty.
Below are copies of the sales receipt and the warranty acknowledgement letter from 1978. Notice the price of the guitar! When you consider that that was a months salary at the time it puts it in perspective.
