Hi LTG! This is my first post! I recently acquired a sunburst 1974 T100D Slim Jim husk. just wondering what people can tell me about the different versions of the "slim Jim".

Im a music student at Purchase Conservatory of Music so I will be changing a few things on the guitar to make it more playable for my purposes as a music student as well as a working and recording musician. Im changing the original bridge to a floating tuneomatic/ ABR1. Im also going to change the original tuners to something with better stability. guitar has no pickups or wiring so I don't know what pickups I am putting in yet. The guitar is roughed for hum buckers, im not sure if this is factory or a mod. I do have a set of mid 60s Gibson Patent sticker pickups I might use.

also any suggestions on where I might find a original tailpiece?

thanks

Welcome! Did you buy the sunburst body from the 74 T100D was just parted out by GibsonDependable? If so, I am glad to know it will come back to life!

The original pickups were Guild HB1s and they are slightly larger than normal humbuckers. You can get regular humbuckers to fit but the mounting screws won’t line up. You can buy new reintroduced HB1s from Guild if you want to make it easier and “look” correct. Guild also sells new harp tailpieces so if you are not stressed about vintage correctness this would be the less expensive path.

Good luck build it up!

Welcome to LTG! Yes, the serial number makes her a 1974 one. Beautiful sunburst.

Here was your guitar (same S/N) with all parts still present, except she already had replaced different tuners.
