I am certain this question has been asked but I can't find the thread. What would be the correct Bigsby for a 72 Starfire IV? B6, 7, 9, etc. I am thinking of adding one to this guitar. Thanks

I think the closest Bigsby-branded model would be a B7, or a B12 might also work. The B3 is too short, and both it and the B6 lack the string tension roller bar that is best for a Starfire IV.

Unfortunately, a vintage Guild-branded equivalent as shown in your picture above, is quite hard to find as a spare and expensive when they do pop up on eBay and Reverb. The newer ones shown on the Guild website aren't vintage, but they may work. They're made in Asia and I don't think they're cast, as the originals are. Still, . . . it may be an option if you're not picky about vintage correct. Another member just recently posted a thread about this, too.

Maybe someone on the forum who's mounted a new Guildsby on an older SF IV may chime in about fit.

You may also want to email Hans Moust at Guitars Galore to see if he has a vintage one.

Good luck!
