Anyone have a comment on this bass - esp what are the pups? - a version of bisonics or not ?
1965 Hagstrom HIIB bass - pickups?

Ignorance never stopped me from having an opinion before so...
I have repeatedly confused the Mickey Mouse PU used on Starfires and JetStars with a similar looking pickup made by Hagstrom that is not the beloved Bisonic. Given that Bisonics show up in 1966 my guess is that the pickup in question is not a Bisonic but may, in some way be related to the PU alluded to above. Since the cosmetics differ, maybe come kind of transitional step?

No relationship, especially sonically. I've owned an 8-string for 41 years.
