I'm looking at a circa '64 S-50 Jetstar.

Don't know much about these (yet), but this photo shows what appears to be a scarf joint at the headstock, neck join.

Is this typical Guild factory construction for this guitar at that time?

Thanks....

That looks like a well repaired broken headstock, not a scarf joint done by the factory.

Probably nothing to worry about. I would ask the seller if he knows when and who repaired it. It looks very clean and probably stable for ever.

Yes it does look like a good strong repair, and might keep the price down for someone that isn't bothered by it.
Otherwise its scuffed up and shows some use......things I don't mind at all.

Someone here might want to take a look....I'll pass.

I've yet to venture into the world of Guild solid bodies, but was comfortable with and enjoyed playing my amp guy's S-100 Polara of the same style and vintage the other day.
