OK, so since I've been back into playing, I've been trying to expand my horizons as well, and learn as much as I can about guitars in general.

So, this week, I've decided to check out some 12-string stuff. Played for awhile over at the local Long & McQuade, checking out some Youtube videos. Then I came across Dan Grigor.

That dude is an absolute animal on the 12-string, incredible stuff! He plays it like a virtuoso, blew my mind. Can anyone recommend another 12 string player to listen to for general reference and enjoyment?

TMG, I've watched that vid a hundred times. I still get choked up. I agree with you on the "all time" nature of that one.

I like SRV's playing on "Life by the drop". Not sure what type of fiddle he used, but it sounds so sweet.

Is that the F-612?[/quote:2bfmdgbd]
I would say yes, looking at the two "flower" (?) bridge inlays. But it seems to have a special fretboard inlay (at 4:48-4:55), not the one that Barbara's 512 has (which I thought was used on the 612 later on). At around 4:25 and 5:13 you see the special checkerboard binding of the body. (wasn't that special to the 612 ?) So JD had multiple F-612s as it looks?
