I’m just mindlessly talking , I have not played my F212xlce in a very long while . Every time I get around to checking her out I tell myself , man I need to pull her out and play her more ! But I always close the case and put her away .

Seems like I’m going down the path of putting her in the closet and forgetting about her . Well after my Wilborn developed some cracks and Ben scolded me about humidity I started buying sound hole humidity units for all my guitars. I’ll post a pic of them .

anyway so I received a few units put one in her and decided it’s time to bring her to the couch ( my main spot to play guitar ) . It took a few days ( meaning the guitar just there ) but I finally pulled her out and tuned up to whatever tuning she was in or close to . Lol

It didn’t take long to write a new tune on her and I just have to say that it is one hell of darn good 12 string . She’s still in beautiful condition just like bought her . The tone is just so satisfying it’s crazy. Super low action no fret buzz . Perfect is all I can say . Lol 😂

my only issue playing her is my ring finger , for some reason the indents from pressing on the strings becomes fixed the more I play the deeper those channels get since they keep shape when I’m in certain chord positions even though I’m pressing down firmly these channels or grooves on my finger are not pressing the strings down enough and the note starts getting muted . lol

Maybe I need thimbles or something on my finger tip . Lol I really don’t like putting my 12 string away and not given her my attention especially since I only had my Yamaha FG312 in Florida for many many years it was the only acoustic I had . The FG 312 is what brought me into the world of open tunings .

ok so that’s basically all I have to say . I’m glad I’m playing her again the F212 that is the Yamaha I sold . Lol

ok onward and upward ! 😊

Darn right you ought to feel guilty! 😉 I had three 12-strings out yesterday, they're just so much fun to play! Even my new Chinese-made Guild D125-12 is a surprise player-and-a-half!

Some righteous hydrometers!
I like them but .. the only thing I’m not sure of is the rubber pads having a reaction with NCL . So far no issues .
I made a suggestion to the company for a slight redesign to allow the clips to swivel independently from the meter .
So there’s a fixed U bracket that connects meter and clips . The water unit can spin .

That U bracket as mentioned has a fixed position that has to stay parallel to the strings while the Clips have to be positioned E string to E string . There is a bit of play in that but not enough to avoid under top mounted electronics which the F212 has , it will clip just not enough as I would like and I guess it would depend on the position controls as to how close to the edge their mounted .

I wasn’t sure how long they last before refill but they seem to be lasting longer then thought .

I also know that the Guild hard foam case the westerly collection used to ship with won’t work with this unit as the case top sits on top will seat on top of the strings and will hit the meter .

they do have a side Mount meter that will work but it has a little smaller water reservoir and the clip is not as secure and I feel it could fall off with transport .

I’ve done a sealed salt humidity test and are read correctly at 70% though 3 of them would 10 or so points different being a few feet away from each other . That’s why I did the test . Weird . I guess I have humidity anomalies floating around . Lol

lastly random checks average 50% some slightly higher mostly after refill low about 40% at which I refill the units .

hope all that makes sense . Ray speak relapse ? Lmao 🤣
