    More Eva Cassidy....

A few years ago I heard a live recording of her singing Autumn Leaves. I was smitten and remain so to this day.

    56 A50

Dave Richard (daverepair here on LTG) gave me back my 56 A50 today after doing extensive work on it. He reset the neck, re-fretted it, repaired the bridge, installed repro tuners, resprayed the back and sides, and refinished the top. It plays like a dream and sounds wonderful... even better than...

    WTB 50s Archtop Pickguard

My 56 A-50 is almost done being restored and I'm looking for a pickguard for it. No pickup on it and I plan to keep it that way.

    Recording a Thunder 1 RVT

Yes, there will be a room mic too… sort of like setup when I recorded the Thunderbass.

    Recording a Thunder 1 RVT

I’m going record my ‘35 diddly bow through my ‘60 Champ and my ‘70 S-100 through my ‘67 Thunder 1 RVT today. We’ll mic the reverb speaker separately from the 12” speaker. I might try the diddly bow through the Thunder 1 too, using heavy reverb. This should be a fun afternoon.

    Recording a Tweedy Bird

Guildedagain's thread on the solid/chambered section got me wondering... has anyone ever recorded with a Tweedy Bird? If so, how did it work out? Any tips?

If you could only keep one of your basses, which would it be?

Nice!! I have a '56 LG-3/4 that looks identical. When I bought it, it was a wall hanger... no tuners, no truss rod cover, no saddle, no nut, no pegs, and someone had half-stripped the back and sides. The auctioneer saw it on top of a woodpile in the garage when he bought out the estate, and he...

    Is that a Gibson LG-3/4?

My 1978 Musicman Stingray. No doubt about it.

    Thunderbass Studio Recording

It worked out fantastic. I wrapped up the bass tracks today... 12 songs. I used the Thunderbass with that '60s Supro in the picture, my '78 Musicman Stingray, and my '08 Fender American Standard Precision V. They all sounded fantastic. The Thunderbass performed like a champ. It records real nice.

    Thunderbass Studio Recording

Recording bass parts for my album with my Thunderbass today. We have one microphone on the speaker, one 30 ft. away, and a DI. My Supro Pocket Bass sounds just like a stand up bass with this setup. Love this amp.

    A Funny Thing Happened…

Hmmm... I have a '53 X-220 and a '73 Princeton Reverb, but I've never paired them up. I'll give it a whirl. I might try it with my '76 Musicmaster Bass amp too, or my '60 Champ. Sounds like you've assigned me some homework for the weekend.
