What Guitar Would You Choose to Teach A 13-yr old Guitar?

There are a couple of kids in our church that have been asking me about learning to play the guitar. One's a smallish 13 year old and one is a bigger 12 year old... so both about the same size I guess. I learned on a horrible Stella guitar. I have no idea if Stella makes a good guitar or not...

Stuart Day's Review of the Aristocrat HH (Trans Black)

Stuart Day, acclaimed luthier from New Galilee, PA, reviews the Guild Aristocrat HH (Trans Black) Spoiler alert -- he likes it, saying "This is a great guitar, man, for the price point I don't think you're going to find a better fit and finish, to be honest..." And, yes, this is my...

Stuart Day Reviewed my "Signature" Guild Savoy 150A

So this was a fun discovery! Up in my Youtube feed pops this review by Stuart Day: This is my "signature" Savoy 150A -- why do I call it that? Check out the B-Roll at 1:50, and pay attention to the 12th fret -- that's my signature there on the Mother of Pearl inlay! Why would I do such a...

Question about Intonating a Guild Aristocrat/M75

I'd like to intonate the new Aristocrat I got in, but the strings come up from the Guild harp tailpiece through the tunomatic... and the strings then cause interference when trying to get a flat-edge screwdriver into the screw at the base of the tunomatic to change intonation. Is there a trick...

    Corona D25

I have a friend who is looking at a Corona D25, with a serial number of CPM00004. Anyone have any thoughts? Supposedly its been sitting in a case for 10 years. Barely used. You know "Only played by a little old lady in church once a week" kind of thing. Is the "C" in the serial designating...

What Guild Is this Closest to?

I know there were only 3 of these actually made (or so I read...) But was this based on a production design and tweaked? Or completely designed from the ground up for Merle? (Pete Townsend shown for scale)

I apologize if this was discussed. I looked for it and didn't see it. Lock thread if its old. Believe it or not, this actually showed up in my Facebook feed. (IDK whether to be upset that they are getting that much better, or impressed...) Cordoba (GUILD) voted Best in Show as reported in...

Guild 1960 Freshman - Some Questions

So, a friend of mine discovered this beauty in a small mom and pop guitar shop not too terribly far from me. 1960 Freshman. Allegedly mint condition. Guy wants $1300 for it which seems like a fair price. Not a steal, but I see them on sale for $1500+ on reverb. Does anyone have the original...

Question on Blusebird from 90s compared to NS Bluesbird

My question goes to playability, not tone. I read GAD's reviews of both. On the NS Bluesbird, he mentions: Unfortunately, my left hand is very picky about the neck it lets me play. I had to take back a Martin with a performance V-Neck, and the MIM 1 3/4" archos I have is unplayable by me...
