    Question about the D-20

I'm with you Dave. I don't really see how Guild would know what gauge strings you used unless you tell them. To be clear, I really have no intention of buying one of these. I have one dread, that's enough for me. This was more of an "information gathering" post. I'm just curious. I've not played...

    Question about the D-20

I have a question for y'all. A couple of people on the UMGF bought a Guild D20. Both like it well, but one fellow ended up selling his. It comes with light strings [12-54]. He normally uses mediums. He inquired about using mediums, but was told that Guild recommends light gauge and not to use a...

In the Market for an Affordable Vintage Guild (D-15 or 25). What to look out for?

Somebody already mentioned the D-4. I had one from 1993. I sold it to my sister around 2001. She still has it so I play it frequently. It sounds better than it really has a right to. LOL. I've tried to get her to sell it back to me, but no luck. ;) Anyway, it is very similar to a D-25. Satin...

Is acoustic guitar an old man's instrument today?

A slight correction...His name is Travis Kelce. Kelce is the last name. I know this because I'm a Chiefs fan, not a Swifty! ;)

Is acoustic guitar an old man's instrument today?

This is simply adorable! I love it! And at the same time, I am irritated that she plays and sings better than me.

    D40-12 ...

I bought a used 1974 G-212 about 1982. I got it for the unbelievable price of $300. I loved it and had it for several years. It now resides with one of my nephews and it still sounds good. I wouldn't mind having another, but that one is a bit pricey. Nice 12 strings though.

    F112 Question

So apparently I wasn't the only one who would sneak into an older brother's room and try to learn guitar by playing theirs. My brother wasn't mad either when he caught me. In fact he started showing me chords. Welcome to the LTG forum!

New Member, New To Guild, And New D-20

Hi Bob. Welcome to LTG. This is the best place to get Guild information. Like a few others, I am also on the UMGF [0018vfan]. So I'm very familiar with your acoustic guitar journey. And because of you, I've been looking at the D-20...Thank you very much!

What acoustic are you playing today?

On Thanksgiving Day, between fixing side dishes, there was some guitar playing. We were at my sister's house. Even though she doesn't play much anymore, there are several guitars there to play. Plus her younger son brought his Martin. She has a Martin OM-15, which we figured out is about 22...

    How many?

I have 5 Guitars. Well really 4, the D12-35 is my brother's, but he's never played it much. So I have custody of it. Only one Guild, but it's a keeper. I've sold 2 guitars in the past year or so. Also have a few smaller instruments that are listed below.

Jumbos: Newish, vs older, vs old... how to choose?

I own a GF60. It's maple, 16" lower bout with a flat back. I bought it new in 1988, so almost 36 yrs old. I love it. I prefer the 16" over the 17" jumbos. Here it is now... Shortly after I bought it...

New capo especially for 12-string guitars, any fretboard radius -- no buzzing!

I also highly recommend the G7 Newport for 12 string. I love mine and it works great. The Heritage for 12 string is also excellent, but in my opinion is way, way too expensive. The notches in the rubber bar really get the job done. I use it on a '67 Martin D12-35 and have no problems at all...

Anyone just have 1 Guild acoustic they play?

I have indeed owned many Guilds through the years, but am down to only one these days. It is my maple GF60. I'll keep it until I can't play anymore, then it will go to a nephew.

FS Thalia capo, Spire Studio **Price Reductions**

I’m depleting my inventory of unused items. 1) A Thalia capo. This is the 200 model which is much easier to squeeze. It comes with the standard tuning kit, which is a hard plastic and the rubber tuning kit. The inserts(tuning kits) are different radii. The standard kit is missing the 16 insert...
