    more photobucket crap

I felt GOOD about deleting my account. Still had my nice Corona X-160 pics on it from Cream City Music/can't remember their other name where I got it. And my 67 CS Tele. And my Mosrite Celebrity. And my first Takamine. And the Hondo I bought in high school. And the Magnatone 460. All...

Anyone have any experience w/ Magnatone amps ? (not the new ones)

I had a 460 about ten years ago. I played it at ONE show-- SO heavy and zapped myself pretty good before I put a three prong in. The original cabinet was some kind of plywood or particle board thing too-- those copies look much sturdier. I didn't really know what I was doing with it at the...

Onto the next project... X160 Rockabilly (in Road-worn shape)

I didn't like the 2000s one bit and had to shim them up to get a decent tone. I'd keep the hums or look for a worthy DeArmond substitute.

    Weird Aldo guitar

I agree likely Japan. This is when I really, really wish I had that book :)

    Weird Aldo guitar

Nice! The shape is one I've seen before though somewhere. If hollow it could be pretty fun with that pickup.

    Weird Aldo guitar

The price is fairly wrong here but I'm curious as to what this might be. It certainly isn't a premier/supro/harmony of the era, and that pickup was installed later. I have a japanese Lyle that was refitted with minihums that it looks somewhat similar to in shape but this is VERY primitive...

How to find a Guild X-160 Rockabilly?

Oh yeah it was gorgeous. But the pickups - which I put spacers under to try to improve - and the narrow nut - were deal breakers. Still one of the things I wish I hadn’t sold. I have a list.

    X160 Rockibilly Pickup Swap Opinion

Apologies on the VERY old pic but I pretty much loved the look of my old Corona x160. More flash. Too bad I didn't bond with it.

Thank you so much! And congrats to you and your purchase! What a nice way to introduce yourself here! I'm just waiting for it to come back from the luthier and a quick setup and strap pin. I’m SO excited. ;)

    USA Built Epiphone Acoustic

I'm just saying it. I would pay almost anything for a black USA frontier. Even though I just had a NGD.

I took it to a shop and they tapped it and made sure it was all ok- and when the guy played it I nearly fell over. So installing a strap button and setting up but leaving the stock strings.

So far I haven't really done anything - not even tuned it up - given the pickup rolling around inside. I plan to take to the local shop to get it quickly set up and inspected.

Here’s a few more pics. Of course doing this I noticed a small finish scuff on the very back of the neck. That’s a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker.

True. I normally wear a strap for performance so I’ll likely go for it unless I want a new trad strap.

Do you guys put in a strap pin in the heel or no? Can’t recall the last time I had a guitar without….

Wow. The red is quite a bit darker than the photo here. It’s lovely. The only issue is the pickup sensor may have come unglued from wherever it was glued to. Hopefully an easy fix. Packing was amazing and what a nice case!
