This sounds a tad scary. Good luck! I hope it comes out perfectly!
The good thing is that once you make the nickel solution, you can use it again and again, and it just gets stronger. So I’ll be doing some test plating before dunking the tailpiece. (Dunkin’ Tailpiece: not a sponsor)

Ran it through the thickness planer to get past the rough sawn surface. Wiped it down with mineral spirits to maximize the curl. I should be able to minimize the less curly area when I cut out the two sides to the template (once I get that made.)

Change of plans on the neck blank. This is why you always want to let wood acclimate after rough milling. It has shown a curve along it's length (see the gap in the middle) and The Boss says that's no good for a stable neck.

Luckily I had another blank that is barely long enough and is straight and stable. It'll mean a one piece neck instead of a laminated neck, but she gives it 2 paws up.
