Well this is a bit of an odd, dread, duck. The D47-CE was part of the 80's Crossroads series and was apparently not too well received back in the day.
To my knowledge this is the only thin, 3-3/4", body dread Guild ever made. (aside from the even more rare chambered solid body DS48-CE) It was a sister to the much more popular F45-CE. It has the same spruce top and mahogany arch back and sides that the early F45-CE had. Within a couple years the F45-CE got it's maple back and sides and the D47-CE was no more.
I would describe the D47-CE sound as a lighter version of the deep D25 voice, and just about as loud. I would say It is the most comfortable dread I've played! Another difference is the 24-3/4" scale length and 24 fret fingerboard.
You can see the comparison with my 1984 D25C.
