I binge watched the new, and highly acclaimed 6 pt series “The English” on Amazon Prime this weekend. A suspenseful western drama set in the 1890’s Midwest starring Emily Blunt. Very well written, wonderfully acted, and just GORGEOUSLY filmed! Just an eye candy masterpiece that left me wanting more, much more. HIGHLY recommended!

Yes. I always considered chocolate and caramel as flavors (and often confuse the latter with butterscotch) and not types of candy. The type would be taffy.
Chocolate as a type really needs a context. If I were giving Tootsie rolls as "chocolates" on Valentine's Day there would be some confusion and perhaps disappointment.
I note we live in a world where people cannot agree what to call a pork product and some carbonated beverages are soda, pop or soda pop depending upon region so this may not be a real disagreement
