The Bassbreaker 007 is just loud enough to get over a drummer, sounds great when you push it!
This particular Starfire is a 2014’ and it’s mahogany. I believe, the IV with the harp TP, in black, was only available in 2014’. In comparison, the LB1s in my VI, which is maple, seemed much more lively…..more volume, clarity etc. The LB1s seemed kind of dark this black Starfire, so I moved the bridge LB into the neck position. The bridge pickup I installed is a newer Gretsch HS filtertron…they are bit more raw or “Gretsch-ey” than the TV Jones I have tried. Also, I pulled the harness and replaced the pots with CTS that measured >500k. Really brought this guitar to life…..and she really likes the Bassbreaker. Too much fun!!
