Yeah, if you find the "right" Gibson they are pretty amazing. I have a beat up '63 J-45 that I adore.

Same here. I own more Gibsons than Guilds, but have been drawn to both brands for fifty years! I also happen to have your new guitar's twin. This one is from 2009, with '57 humbuckers and a neck they called the "60/30 profile." The idea was that it's .030" wider than a typical '60s Gibson neck. I've got two other Gibsons with the same profile, and for me, it's the most comfortable I've ever played on an electric (and happily I have two Guild acoustics with a very similar profile!):I was kidding a bit with my OP and thread title! I love Guilds AND Gibsons and I always have.
