Just a dream come true. This experience has been my most rewarding regarding guitars. I simply con not convey with mere words how ecstatic I am with this guitar. It truly exceeds all of my wildest expectations. She arrived last Thursday, and since, I've had a hard time taking care of things like yard work and errands since her arrival. I need a name though, and need help. My Collings D2HA is "Colleen", and now I need a name for the D1A? Fingerstyle is an absolute dream on this thing. I didn't think anyone built a guitar as light as a Santa Cruz, but this one is......light as a feather.
As far as a new Adirondack top? Well if this thing "opens up" anymore, I'll have to find a way to mute it. Loud and very articulate. I happen to have a Tone-rite and put it on this beauty last night, and still running. To tell you the truth, I thought long and hard about using the Tone-rite on her as I don't see/hear any room for improvement, but I've got the Tone-rite, so decided it won't hurt a thing.
