I'm searching for a Guild GAD-30E in Amber Burst (AMB), in very good condition and with original retro hard case. I've tried Ebay and Reverb but without any success. I am very, very grateful for any help on where to look. Thx a lot and Greets from Austria, Alex

I think you have to create an account at Craigslist first (top right corner under account) and log in. (like E-Bay Kleinanzeigen). But I think it's very unlikely a Craigslist seller would sell out of country.

I did create an account, but still get this error. And I would do all the paperwork and organizing for pickup shipping.

I could *maybe* help out w the craigslist one in NY. however, the one on Facebook in Virginia looks like the rosewood is a little nicer, and they are asking a lot less money.

in any event, I would look for an acoustic in Europe first, as one of these would really wind up costing you!

It would be cool, if you could somehow contact the seller. I'm looking for a GAD-30E in Europe for a long time but nothing popped up till now. At least not the Amber Burst version, nothing in excellent condition or with pickup. The one in Virginia is at 765 $, the craigslist in NY at 650 $.

you are correct, sorry i thought it said $950. it was late! for me at least ha.

I am up in Stone Ridge all the time, and that guitar has been posted on CL a long long time. I am not the best at looking at/assesing acoustics however. Since it's not so old hopefully it is basically like new. but this would be a bit of a leap of faith for you, in more ways than one. message me if u want to roll the dice.

At the risk of volunteering other people and making work for them, we have members who claim to live in Richmond, Virginia (where the listing is) and several others who could drive there in less than 90 minutes. My concern is shipping and packing and that isn't easier when it's international, but maybe there are folks less timid than I am.

The seller seems to be a nice guy. Made me offert I couldn’t resist. But he wants to send it with the strings detached. Is this a good idea? I though the strings give a guitar its stability?

I took the other pickup out. And realized if I install the original one it’s just gonna take more time for your tech to take it out, solder it, and install it again. So as it is The guitar is in the case with no strings. Better to ship it so far this way. The bridge, saddle, and pins are in a baggie in the case compartment along with the Fishman matrix pickup system. I’ve made a bit of a protector for the piezo so it doesn’t get damaged.

I can‘t believe how nice and supportive all of you are. I’m a new member, a complete stranger and haven’t yet been able to contribute much to this community.

I think being nice is part of the self enforced community standards.

If the seller isn't comfortable with packing there is a lot of good advice scattered across LTG. Avoiding bubble wrap is one good piece of advice. I'll let someone else search, though.

The seller on Facebook unfortunately hasn't replied to any of my messages for three days and hasn't yet given me an email for the Paypal transfer. Hopefully he didn't change his mind. :(

Why is the Fishman system removed? Don't believe I've ever seen a piece offered that way before, raises my caution flag. (Edit: Missed the seller's explanation at first, but still..)

There is a school that believes string tension helps keep a neck stabilized in case of a jolt that would induce a "diving board" type of oscillation reported to be a source of headstocks snapping off.

The mechanics make sense to me, and I believe somebody once mentioned Martin shipped (or still does?) their guitars that way for just that reason.

The Facebook seller, I already had a deal with, has sadly sold it to someone else, so I‘m still on the search.
