... doesn't mean you should. Coming to a dealer near you, the Jackson Rickencision. Yikes.

Who exactly was this supposed to appeal to? The traditionalist will think it’s absolutely horrible, the vintage mod crowd will feel the same and the metal crowd will undoubtedly hate it as well. This ain’t even like the travesty that is pineapple pizza, this is like if you put chocolate and onions together.

I mean, Jackson did come out with this a while back:

At least it has a Floyd.
IIRC that was a signature model for Jeff Beck. My coworker had the reissue in hot pink and it looks absolutely over the top silly to me.

I can't tell whether this is a joke or you didn't notice it was a bass :)
Nonsense you can bring the low end thunder while doing some sick whammy bar tricks that will probably get lost in the mix anyway.

Feel like this should be on the “ Time for some guitar jokes” thread.

BTW, the "Rickencision" name is mine. Jackson is calling it the X Series Concert Bass.

The one person I know with a similarly equipped Pilot bass has said it isn't especially useful on bass.
I can imagine the nut getting absolutely wrecked if you used the bar heavily. They didn’t make a locking nut mechanism for the bass Kahlers so the constant friction in the slots would be like taking an angle grinder to them. I figured a fretless would do what the Kahler can but way more musical.
