This crud sucks if I can say so . Took 5 yrs to get my vacation time up which I was going to use to see my girlfriend in the Philippines and hopefully tie the knot. Yeah you all don't know about that . Lol

COVID hasn’t helped either . so yeah my left knee has been hurting for years on and off which we thought was just scare tissue which it could have been .

so at work climbing up into the dump truck my knee pops sideways and that was that .

thought Workmans comp would cover it but no . I still went through there process for a week and half . I didn’t get to see the X-rays from urgent care. They actually said I can go back to work light duty .

my work only gives light duty to special well liked people of which I am not . Lol

I told workers comp that I need my knee doctor to look at this from the start of which I was waiting for approval. So on Friday driving in to get checkup from workers comp they called and broke the news they eont cover it .

ok so now my doc comes into play . There only open half days on Friday so I had to wait to Monday and begged to get in . My doc was booked solid so I got a PA . He came with the X-rays and I could see that the pad or fake Meniscus popped out which I knew because the joint when I walked sounded like windshield wipers scraping across a dry windshield. Lol

ok so the pad actually was imbedded into my calf muscle below the joint . Ouch !!!

The PA said he needs to go get the Doc unknown to him he had time to see me after all.

First words out of his mouth was , You again ! Second set of words were Friday Surgery .

Took them about 15 to minutes to dig the old spacer out of my calf . They also noticed that the core of my tendons were gray not white and then realized the top part of the implant was broke free of the bone . Ouch ouch !!! Lol

lucky thing was the joint rep was there possibly to see what went wrong with it or just by luck . At any rate the luck was he had a replacement on hand .

ok do there we have it . Out of work and not happy and why me etc etc .
I had a good time in the hospital with the nurses and with PT actually got to lead a class . Lol

Wow.... sorry to read that, Rayk! this hurt already when reading... How long will it take to heal?

At least your hands and arms are ok, so you can play guitar to distract yourself a little. Get well soon!

Not a good read Ray but a GREAT bottom picture.

Agreed!! Hopefully that was taken after the mess.

Good luck with the healing.

Btw, good opportunity to add to the BGUF thread while you're just laying there......

Very sorry to hear about your troubles.

Since you now have some free time, you might consider calling around to see if an attorney can help you encourage workers comp to accept this claim. Your claim sounds legit to me (a random guy on a guitar forum) if the injury occurred at work.

Unfortunately there has to be an accident associated with the injury and there was none and I don’t lie soooo. Basically they write it off to normal wear and tare to the aging body .

Maybe time for a new thread . . . "Beautiful Guitar, Ugly Knee"!

Or BGUK, for short.

At least the manufacturer's rep had a spare part in the trunk of his car. (y)
