I watched the PBS American Masters documentary on Little Richard last night. There is film of him playing in England with Sounds Incorporated as his backup band, and the guitar player (as in Gorgie Fame's band) is playing a Guild jazz box. Film is from early 60's, The Beatles opened for him, before they were "faa-mus."

Robert Jr. Lockwood, who was a sideman on many classic Chess/Checker sides. I think he mostly played a Gretsch on those, but these PICs show that Guild must've also had a place in his heart:
