I was in error earlier about Mondo Cane. It's worth watching if you like tongue-in-cheek shock, mock-u-mentaries. Some segments have held up better than others. I actually found a news story about the creepy Malaysian village of shark-bit amputees who take their revenge harvesting shark fins. Then I laughed when the 2015 news footage was actually from 1962 Mondo Cane.

Also, what an epic sound-track! It offered a movie song for the ages. "More" was up against tough competition at the 1964 Academy Awards and lost.

Dey wuz robbed.

As a lover of those ultimate cheese American International exploitation flicks I mentioned earlier, sounds right up my alley.
Gotta point you to "Kunuk Uncovered":

I guarantee you will love it, even if our tastes differ when it comes to hard rock.
<end of veer>.

's funny, I love "More" but I love "ChimChim Cheree" even more.
Didn't realize that's what it lost to.
Dang.

I'll look it up Adorshki.

The 1964 academy award for best song was definitely the only time a Mondo movie came close to an Oscar. It was all downhill after Mondo Cane I. It think it's the greatest movie song to ever come out of a Z-movie.

I should clarify my position: For performance/arrangement, I actually prefer the Kai Winding "More", but for pure composition I have a preference for "Chim Chim Cheree".
I hear a gypsy jazz song just dying to get done right.
There's a Coltrane cover of it that's right up there with his cover of "My Favorite Things".

All these posts an no one says THIS one ?

's funny what we forget about when we're trying to remember stuff from several genres, eh?
