Triggered by a comment in another thread about price points for the new Guilds and increasing market branding by adding young(er) artists - (young(er) is a relative term) - who play Guilds, I started to make a list. (Editorial note: I think John Denver sold more 12-string Guilds than all the sales reps in stores throughout the world, combined. We miss you, John! <3 <3 :) )

This is who I have so far:

1. Doyle Dykes (my gosh, what a GREAT spokesperson to have for Guild) - remember, younger is a relative term
2. Bruno Mars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkuoRGig4Cs
3. Joe Pug http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJwHUD_HiHc
4. Mary Halvorson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtJj7IKT ... ure=relmfu
5. Dan Schwartz (Good Old War) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qudqt_QXVE4
6. James Marsden (30 Rock episode)
7. R.J. Ross (Elegantly Stripped) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AmfNrzASkQ

Others?

We've been down the Guild players rabbit hole several times. Any chance that, on this visit, we can stick with folks who have been seen with Guilds in hand since 2010? I think that would help support or focus on the point being made - who is playing Guilds today and which of those players have new Guilds?

Just one more to add, <shameless plug> but this one is my first cousin once removed Woody Pines </shameless plug>

I give him a lot of credit. He works really hard, and is "living the dream", as they say. 8)

Since I am one of the few that consider GADs to be Guilds   , here is Justin Townes Earle playing a very nice sounding GAD F20 (My Favorite GAD). http://vimeo.com/3269542

He has since changed guitars to what I believe to be his fathers custom Martin M-21, but this video is within the 2-year grace period for this thread.

I always mention Boston's Buffalo Tom - they're in their forties but I think he's had his JF30 since the early 90s:

Aussie band You Am I - see this thread : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=30204

Funny thing is I saw both bands for the first time on the same bill back in '94 (YAI supporting BT).

Also young Sydney band The Underlights - saw them a few months ago & a D55 was used. There's lots's of acoustic on this clip so I'm guessing that it's the same guitar. Cool song regardless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=503mOceNBZI

Hi West, just to complete the info. The guy who is playing it is Tim DeArmit from Nashville, TN, during Blake Shelton's acoustic Studio 330 Sessions. While in Nashville Tim played lead guitar for Blake Shelton.
Did you notice in the video that it is another signed guitar?
But it is not a new NH Guild...

Yes sir, I had noticed it was autographed. And no, it is not a N.H. Guild, it is a Westerly D30 as stated in my post. I didn't know the criteria here was to demonstrate a N.H. built Guild being played, I merely read the OP's thread title....."Young Artists Who Play Guilds".

The guy is good, and plays the heck out of that thing......does a really good slide on it in some other numbers.........he also does backup vocals for Blake Shelton.

Over 20 and counting! Seems to be lots of love for Guilds down-under. :)

P.S. Ralf, from what I understand, Tim DeArmitt is no longer with Blake Shelton (left Nashville and now lives in the Denver area). Guess he has a regular gig on Wednesdays at a pub called the Underground.

P.P.S. I'm still not understanding the logic/need/reason to sign a guitar.

Jim, yep, just seeing a Guild is the important thing. :)
