I don't visit this spot often but in this case I have to agree with Tom & GAD. Pick guards are black or tortoise. Fretboards are wood (rosewood or ebony preferred) with an inlay at points not the whole darn thing. On the other hand if a showpiece is all that is required I think all of us here can appreciate the amount of skill and effort that goes into an instrument like that, but it is destined for the display case not playing time.
On the other hand if a good set of tuning machines with those skull buttons (ala the CoCo guitar) was made I might be just twisted enough to install them on something (not the G312 though!)
