After looking at my post, and giving it more thought than I did when I posted it, it seems to me
that the thin-body acoustics may well be "stage guitars," not unlike some thin body Guilds and
(perhaps a "shudder?") Ovations back in the day. If you've played one, and liked it, then only person
you need to make happy is you! There will be many "alternatives" in the future for the traditional
mahogany and rosewood, walnut may well be one of them. If you do not already have a J-45, that is another
one of the "standard-sounds" for the quiver...

What's this "thin body" stuff, even on the SJ-200? Not the Gibsons of the old days, someone is still
mucking with the formula.
Totally agree. A thin body SJ200 is certainly NOT a jumbo! Guild jumbos are REAL jumbos!

About walnut back and sides : four Gibson have a "Studio" iteration (is this the right word ?) using walnut back and sides : L-OOs, J-45s, Hummingbirds and J-200s... They are less expensive than standard models, and as you may know already, no 'bling' is needed in the studio since your fans won't see you there, hence the name (and specs)...
I'm not sure, but body depth might be a little less than those on standard models I had heard (but wasn't confirmed I believe). Hummingbirds do not get parallelogram fret markers...J-200s too will get simple dots on the fretboard, if my memory serves me well...

My experience with Guild bodies that are about 1/2" different in thickness of the same model is that the thinner ones are just as resonant (if not more) than the thicker ones. I'm not sure how much bearing that has on the Gibsons, but just FYI.
