I had a call this morning about "some kind of owl in my yard."
I fairly leaped into action and here you go. :D

Killdeer w/ Barred Owl

I hustled him over to my good friend Stacy at the rehab center and we'll release him as soon as he recovers. Possibly a window collision in the predawn hours.

Success makes me smile, :D

Are you wearing your "owl beak proof gloves" or do you not worry about being bitten?
Maybe he was too stunned to retaliate?
Nice job on the assist. He'll spread your good name among his peers upon release I am sure! :D

Doesn't seem like a coincidence that he ended up in your yard, Joe! Providence, I'd say...

That would have been way too perfect.
He was actually in a yard about 2 miles away, where the person who called me lives.

Either way, good outcome. :D

Yeah, I can hear it now: "For a good time call that guy Joe over by Puget Sound. He's a sure bet for a free dinner too...."
