What don't you like about the tuners? I've had no problems with Grover Sta-Tites, old or new (aside from one worn-out low E that had apparently been used as a vibrato device).

First, I think they're ugly. I only like open tuners on classical guitars.

Second, I don't think they stay in tune as well as Rotomatics or Shallers, though I have no empirical data to back that up.

Lastly, I really dislike the tiny buttons. A lot.

I'm interested in what you think of the pickups. I've had mine for awhile now and I'm still undecided. I like them OK but I'm thinking of using Seth Lovers. Guild says HB1s won't fit.

I'll definitely put it through some tests. On paper, at least, they're the same pickups as the 1990s Bluesbirds, but the guitar is a very different design.

Yeah, I ultimately wound up changing those too. The ones in my NS Bluesbird might be good candidates for my PRS Zach Myers.

The bridge pickup is a bit hot for my tastes in the '97, so I expect that to be true here as well. We'll see.

Seth Lovers are almost always a great choice.

Should probably fit in an M-75 case? I ended up buying a sdotd Aristocrat and the case fits my DeArmond perfectly.

Now I am seeing Antique Tobacco Sunburst Bluesbirds online. Anyone seen one in person?

No, the Newark St. Bluesbird has a hotter JB SH-4 on the bridge and a '59 SH-1N at the neck ! The 90ies Bluesbirds came with both '59 SH-1B and SH-1N, at least that is what my 2000 Bluesbird has.
The JB SH-4 is a kind of "hot-rodded humbucker" as SD describes it and has 16.6k Resistance vs. only 7.6k resistance for the '59 SH-1N. According to Seymour Duncan the JB SH-4 pairs particularly well with the ’59 neck pickup.

Not too shabby! I've not seen one in person, but I sure do like the look.

I do too!!!!! Now I am torn between Iced Tea and Tobacco. Sounds like a country song doesn't it.
