What is the difference between miscellaneous and thread veering?

A thread that’s veered has an arguable beginning in the right category and started about (usually Guild) guitars or guitar ephemera.

If the original thread has a lot of archival value, in this Moderator's opinion, I will sometimes wield my Moderator's Machete and clean up the veer. If a thread in Misc, has archival value I might move it and prune it but if it is left there then the veer is not a big issue.

Sometimes I will create a miscellaneous post which is actually a total veer.

On the LTG, all posts eventually veer. You can count on it, like an upside down TRC. It's going to happen.
