Would anyone know what year Richie Havens D40 was that he used in his mid 60s recordings and live appearances?
Is there any chance it was a 1964 with the alternate fan bracing pattern ?

Possible, but unlikely. @hansmoust might know. Richie was so hard on guitars that there was likely more than one of them, probably similar in age the the '66 I used to own.

My '66 had none either. That was a running change some time in the '67 model year.
Thanks for the quick response. I’m just fascinated by non x braced acoustics and I’ve been a fan of this album for a long time. The album was released in ‘66

Would fan bracing hold up to Richie's playing?

BTW, just curious about your username, Sauerkrautseth... What's the origin of that?
I worked at a farm that I started a successful sauerkraut business for. There was another guy named Seth who worked there, so I became sauerkrautseth. It became my stage name, and I would sell sauerkraut as merch when I used to play shows with numerous bands.

So a blingless D40, doublebound, tuners look like Grover Rotomatics.
Also a through-saddle prior to '67.

Right. But note the p/g shape in this '64 catalog. Suspect the ladder-braced guitars would have received the same type 'guard, they were only made for a short time. Suspect the guitar on cover of Mixed Bag is a little too late, but we also don't KNOW if that was the guitar actually used in recording.

Guaranteed at least 2, since the Woodstock D40 has Chesterfield and drop-in saddle.

Add 2 more Tacoma-era D40 Signatures, one black, one Natural.
So 4, minimum. Plus at least a couple of F50's and a D30.

And even a G-41 IIRC:
