Does anyone know what kind of rosewood was used on Guild guitars in the 50s? Was it Dalbergia nigra (Brazilian rosewood) or some other kind? If braz it would mean CITES certificates are necessary when passing borders.

On the archtop fingerboards, it was Braz; I think the base of the bridges were too.
If you're asking about the back/sides of the acoustics, it'll depend on whether it's a lower or higher end guitar.

EDIT: Just checked The Bible, and it looks like any acoustic in the 50s would be Braz.

I'm not sure how many, if any, rosewood back/sides Guilds were made in the '50's. Most were maple, transitioning to mahogany.

You're right, I wasn't paying attention to the start date of the F-50R.

In the '50's virtually all instrument and furniture rosewood was Braz, there wan't a need to look for any substitutes yet.
That didn't happen until around '67 when Brazil realized they needed to start conserving and started restricting the export trade.
It's why Martin started using EIR in '67.
