Ah, yes, nutmegger was the first (as far as I know) to get in there. He shared that with us a few months ago. Nice birthday present! :)

Time for a call to Mr. Untermyer to get the ball rolling again...

Uh, no, CJ.. :) Not my birthday. It was nutmegger's birthday, as I recall, that got him in the door. :) My b-day is in January.

Sorry Chaz ... I guess I should put my glasses on ... mis-read your 'on-line' status as it being your Bidet ... but, you can save my well-wishes til next year. I remember him/Steve(?) stressing the distinctions between the old Hartford and the improved version ... he was wired into NH somehow? It'd be encouraging to see some NH output showing up on deBay; either bona fide retailers just turning over inventory or people on whom guitars failed to take hold.

The X160 I bought new a few years ago was made in Westerly.

To the former Westerly workers, thank you for the craftmanship.

Hear, hear... This always bears repeating. And, for that matter, thanks as well to the Corona and Tacoma workers for their stewardship!

OK, so folks I'm in touch with Mr. Untermyer and I'll start up a new thread to get a headcount once we have a date for a tour. His latest email exchange is, as follows, FYI:

Hi Charlie,

Let me talk with the Guild Product Manager and get back to you. We're building
nearly the entire Traditional Series line here.

I think that you'll be very much impressed with the space, the processes, the
product improvements, the tooling and the luthier craftsmen building the
guitars.

It's really quite special.

Take care,

Frank

Subject: New Hartford Guild Factory
Tour

Dear KMC friends,

Last winter, I corresponded with Mr. Untermyer about arranging a factory tour
for a group of Guild enthusiasts from LetsTalkGuild.com. At the time, he
indicated that the request was a bit premature.

I would like to know if it would be possible now to set up a group tour. My
guess is that it would be around 10 people, but I wouldn't know until I tried to
organize it.

I know there are a number of us who would appreciate the opportunity to see the
US Guild production in full swing and to talk to the KMC folks about the brand,
the products, and the manufacturing process.

Please let me know if that would be possible and when we can set up a time for a
tour. Thank you very much!

:) I'm nothing if not persistent. That has served me very well in many aspects of my life over the years.

I'll surely keep you guys posted.

He had very energetic and humble words too last time we spoke... I agree.

Well done, Chaz!

I'm betting you'll really like what you see when you tour the factory.

Well, although it seems that corporations can toss workers aside freely, I'm appreciative of all present and past workers who have carried on the Guild tradition....hope it goes on for a looooooong time...

I think that most of us work or have worked for places that don't care much about their employees.
We are a dime a dozen in their eyes.

Even with that in mind, I to would like to acknowledge and thank the many workers that have put their blood and sweat into making the finest Guitars in the world.

Thank You Guild Workers!!!

I needed a part for an Ovation repair so I decided to take a ride up to the plant and pick it up this morning...
and, of course, snoop around at the Guilds...

They are gearing-up for tomorrow's big reveal to 50 dealers. I gotta say, the Guilds look and feel great! Loads of F30s, D55s, D40s, F412s...ready for shipping ...and all very well done ( & I caught a few cosmetic surprises).
Also, it was great seeing an old friend from Westerly working at the Hamer and Guild side of things.

Thats great news!

Define 'cosmetic surprises' :)

I've also heard the F50's have started shipping as well.
