Is that a Thalia TRC or what came on it originally?
Hi Boneman. Stock is just a black plastic TRC. This is a Thalia rosewood TRC. They do it on a lamination. I know the G shield is not a perfect match for the GSR headstock, but I think it looks nice.

Chaz you also have quite the collection of great acoustics. How do you like that '84 Taylor 12er? I bet it is awesome!

Thanks, Woody. The Taylor 655 is wonderful but has a completely unique voice. I had about a dozen Taylors go through casa Chaz back in the mid oughts, but only the 655 stayed. It got some excellent lutherie done to it (including a compensated 12-string saddle) by a fellow who no longer does repairs, and the 655 has been one of my favorites ever since. It also has some of the most unbelievable quilting I've ever seen. I call it "veining" (for wont of a better word). I'll take some "extreme pix" next time it comes out for some play time, Woody.

I love that picture of the back on the right, Bob. I know you've shown it to us before. The picture makes it look like the leaves of the tree/bush are inlayed into the back. Cool.

Beautiful finish on these, I can't fault it - it was hard to get a shot of the back without reflection!
Here it is from another angle, taken after the tuner swap.

Thanks, it (like my 68 Starfire) was my maternal Grandfathers... they became mine when he passed, but due to an unstable living situation followed by a bit of a falling out with my family, they got tucked away in my parents basement (clean/dry/finished... my father ran a small Engineering firm with a couple employees down there) for decades. I finally got them back a couple years ago. I had to do some major cleaning and set up on the Framus. Here are a few shots of before and after.
I know you posted this last year, James, but I was just looking through the thread and saw this again. That Framus is a marvel. I'm blown away. What's the back wood on that, by the way, James? And, also, where the heck did you find a Framus drum head (is that original)?

Just amazing. That looks like it was a LOT of work to get back into shape. But, a labor of love. Do you play banjo?

Thanks for sharing those pix earlier!

The archtops inspired me to put the Gagliano Model 900 into today's play list. It's made by Kay and is equivalent to the K-11 model. Giant 5-piece maple neck (no truss rod), solid top (pressed, not carved), and laminated maple back and sides. Sounds amazingly good.

Just running back a few pages looking at the beautiful axes...

Another super-cool one from the GG brood!!!! I'll be this sounds really nice!!

The inlays look like "sailboats" to me, but I suppose "shark fin" works OK too. :)

Tick, tick, tick, Jeff...

Still on track?
It's coming up fast. I'm looking forward to having more time playing and hopefully writing.

I don't have many solo gigs these days, but with two coming up fast (this Saturday and next), I've been spending my playing time with my two workhorses, a 2012 D50 Standard (standard pitch) and a 2007 F30 Aragon with the coveted iced tea burst (alternate tunings). Each is equipped with a K&K Pure Mini. These aren't my best guitars in a sense, but I'm very comfortable with both and don't mind taking them into bars.

I wasn't kidding when I said that the iced tea burst was coveted. It's gorgeous. I think it was only offered in 2007--at least, I've never seen a confirmed iced tea burst from another year.

That may be right, Jeff. We recently saw a 2007 F-412 with that burst go to Cougar.

2007 F-47MC Ice Tea Burst? It was described as such by the shop selling it.
This just received from dealer in Florida through Reverb. Only a couple small marks on the sound board and the case is perfect. Maybe a closet Queen. The plastic protection on the pick guard is still on it. SN TK143009 Wednesday May 23 2007
Restrung this morning with Martin .0115 custom silk and steel and being played today. My first Maple Guild / any brand / and I really like the sound. So different from my Rosewood and HOG bodied guitars.
