Westerly Guild DV6HG...value?

I have a '96 DV6HG sunburst/electric that I bought 6 yrs ago. It was in pretty good condition but my son threw a Wii remote and it put a big blemish on the top. Still sounds great and plays great but I'm wondering what it's worth now that it has a crack in the top.

Any estimates?

Thanks!

Aaron,
Welcome to LTG!

I think it is fair to say that yes, the damage will diminish the re-sale value of your DV6HG. How much effect there will be is hard to judge w/o seeing the damage... can you post some pics.

(to post pics, you will need to host the pics on an image server, such as image shack, photo bucket, etc. I use a service called PBase, which isn't free, but has no ads. Then, find the URL (address) of the pic on the server, copy the URL, and paste it into your LTG post. If it isn't there already, add ".JPG" to the end of the URL. Then highlight the URL in your message, and click the "Img" button on the message toolbar. This will add the image tags to the image address. Preview you message to see that the pics show)

Aaron,

Wow, that's some arm your son has! Are you sure the actual top is cracked, or just the lacquer?

Regardless, I still think that the DV6 was -- pound-for-pound, dollar-for-dollar --Guild's best flat-top at the time.
And, for some odd reason, it's still a sleeper.

That's exactly how think/feel! I'll still really regret not buying one I played at Sam Ash like 8 years ago.
