So, I had some time to kill before a meeting and swung into GC. Played all the mid to high end guitars I could get my hands on. Wouldn’t have bought a single one of them.

Happy to go home and play my 70’s era Westerly’s each time, every time. There’s just nothing like em.

When you know, you know. Ya know?

Hope to get to more recording when the craziness of Holy Week is over..:

After I bought my really good Martin M 36, I was able to walk out of a music store without that pang in the gut I always had leaving. I went 25 years before I became a flat picking dread man. Once you reach a certain level it becomes which flavor of good. My 70 Guild D 35 qualifies as over the bar, as do my Martin D 35 Custom, my 65 Epic Texan and my Santa Cruz. The Martin has that scooped thing going on, the Texan a raw forceful dryness, and the Santa Cruz a sophistication I've never owned. I could play the Guild exclusively for its superb balance along. Glad I don't have to though.
