Well, the first Guild I ever owned was a 1966 CE-100D, and I sold it way back when. That was dumb! So I just bought another one. It’s a player to be sure, and not original, but I’m psyched to get it and will report back when it’s in my hands. It’s apparently a 1962 single pickup modded with a 70s era Gibson mini humbucker, replaced bridge and tuners. The price was right! To be updated.

Link to the seller's Reverb listing for photos etc.: https://reverb.com/item/61242361-guild-capri-ce-100-sunburst-1962-with-hardshell-case

Congratulations, Clayton. A 1964 CE-100, single mini humbucker was also my gateway to Guilds, and like you I sold it. It had the comfiest neck of any guitar I've ever had. I've since replaced it with a dual humbucker Capri. I hope yours turns out to be to your liking.

Based on the impression left on the varnish, the single mounting hole and the year that baby would have originally had Franz pup with "Dogear" cover.
Very nice guitar and easy to return to stock.

This story is still an upcoming NGD. Apparently it was shipped USPS ground retail from CA to me in MA…. The delivery date keeps changing daily- apparently the guitar is currently in Springfield, MA. I’m a usually a patient person, but this is killing me with anticipation.

Who ships guitars USPS!? I would be screwed since they don’t deliver to my street address and it won’t fit in my PO Box lol. HNpendingGD

I guess I get jaded up here in the mountains. I automatically think Fed Ex UPS when shipping big boxes. Due to my situation I forget USPS is part of the competition these days.

I've actually had great luck shipping guitars USPS plenty of times, but I use Priority Mail. Obviously, that would be a problem with a P.O. Box address though.

Good news! It arrived today and my wife signed for it. I'm looking forward to checking it out after work!

Here it is! This is one PLAYED guitar. I already love it despite the destroyed frets and rattly tuneomatic bridge. I have the trussrod cover and pickguard, but I'm missing the pickguard bracket. I ordered one that I hope will work- we'll see. I'm happy! I was able to put a drop of superglue in the piece of loose binding by the nut and it's fine now.
