This unusual X-150 in the Netherlands has got me puzzled - does anyone have any ideas about the finish and pick up? I don’t remember seeing this kind of wood used as original on these guitars - it reminds me a bit of a DE-100 I saw which had been stripped back from translucent red? Could the guitar have originally been finished like this? And wondering about the pick up: it looks like the kind of unit used on the early Polara, but I don’t know if these were ever used on archtops -could it have been original to the guitar?

Seems to be from 1963.

Somebody made a big mess... Clearly refinished to me.
Label kind of hard to read, I see the X-150 and something afterwards which might be "spec" for the pickup or simply "blonde", doesn't look like "Sb" at least.. well, "cherry" might be another possibility.

I also thought refin Ralf, with maybe some kind of stain on it? But I thought these had spruce tops - am finding it hard to convince myself that this could be spruce underneath a stain. Really odd one…
