I've got a late 70's D25 that is starting to have problems with the low E tuner. Sometimes it sticks and won't turn either direction. Are there replacement tuners that match the stock guild tuners or will I have to replace them all. I could replace them all and store the others in case I ever want to sell the guitar. Anyone know of a high quality set that would fit a D25?

fergi: try lubricating the tuner gears with a drop of vegetable oil (I assume you have the standard issue open tuners) There is also an adjustment screw on the tuners for loosening and tightening. I'd suggest trying this before changing out tuners. Good luck!

Thanks Dreadnut.

As I recall the gears are not exposed but I'll try to get some lube in there.

Why Vegetable oil?

Oh, I figured you had open tuners on that D-25.

Don't think that I would use vege oil in any event.

I'd use ........... SNIBBO

Probably hard to come by in the U.S. JerryR could probably find some.

Sorry Gary - I think SNIBBO is an Antipodean thing (like vegemite) - don't see it round our way

I wish that I could remember the ( English ) comedy in which Snibbo was featured. I have the strongest feeling that the bloke who played Captain Peacock in " Are You Being Served " extolled its virtues.

Can't find it on Google, unfortunately !

Have not seen many Spike Milligan episodes, but he did a fabulous one on The Muppet Show. He and Zero Mostel were the best at interacting with the Muppet gang, just as if they were Muppets themselves.
