the sign in my image is from the pre-fender era.
i designed the new sign, and the plant manager and i had it made locally shortly after fender took over...
It couldn't have been easy to remove.
Tom and Fred had a heck of a time mounting that...they hung it with a rope from the roof and stood on a ladder to screw it to the building. It was pretty heavy.
the sign was on the end of the building where the office parking lot was. the door you see in the pic opened into the finishing department...right next to the bench were the Guild logo was silk screened onto the headstock of the lower-priced models.
the street runs along the left edge of the building in that photo.
I wasn't aware that an addition was added to the building....i haven't been in westerly since my last day of work there.
I noticed that the Johnnycake center says they're at 35 industrial drive...when i was there the street number was 60 ?!?
