With all the cracks on the top (as described) it probably couldn't withstand any tension from the strings at the bridge any longer.

I do like a good chair, but that one didn't really do it for me. I think its new role as a stand for that poor D25 is more appropriate. They do make for a sad team.

Still curious about the car, though! :lol:

The trapeze trick I've seen used before when the top on a guitar started to raise up. Not the bridge, but the top itself. Put the trapeze on it and it starts to push the top back down or at least stops further raising.

Right. It's actually Tommy Chong's old axe. Can't you tell by the lowrider in the background? Case is missing 'cause it was confiscated in an airport when it set off the dogs (you know, that "how do I get this smell out of my case?" syndrome) . And yes, "This guitar has really been USED!"
