I think I paid $200 for a Braz D-50 around 1973. Traded it even up for a mid 60s Country Gent when I needed an electric for a band gig. I'm guessing it would be worth more than $200 today, too.

I think the Braz days ended in '70. Certainly they did for Martin when they could no longer get additional supplies and had to go on what they had it stock.
Guild ended around '68, Gibson...around then but they are an odd bunch and you never know.
Of course Brazilian is still being made into guitars but it is very old stock and there is almost none left around.
I remember back in those days- I traded my '58 D-18 for a new '70 D-28 which had a price of $300 at Manny's in NYC. Nobody seemed to care if the back and sides were Braz or EIR, I certainly didn't although in long hindsight I probably lost $500 when I finally sold the D-28 to make the mortgage about 20 years ago. if it had been Braz I would have gotten a lot more. I still got 3 months mortgage payments out of it.
