I liked it!

Actually, I like it, too, a lot in fact. I am not entirely sure why, though! Maybe it's her charismatic chutzpah.

Maybe I posted this before, I don't remember if I did. For ten years or so my wife and I had a condo in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. It sat a few blocks from the old wall that was built in the fifteen hundreds to defend the city from enemies and pirates. It is owned and run by the US National Parks Service now. I used to go out there three or four times a week, I would take a rum and Coke out there and sit on the wall busking with a ukulele. I would play in the afternoons long enough to make thirty bucks or so, then I would text my wife to meet me at the bar for drinks. After drinks we would go out for supper on it. The uke was easy to haul around with us. I sold the condo four years ago. I miss busking out there on the wall.

A photographer doing a photo documentary took this picture.

Excellent ukulele spirit!

Grace VanderWaal, an alarmingly young person, born only in 2004. Big voice, too.

Already with her own signature line of Fender ukuleles.

Wendell Hall

Hall liked Martins but failed to land an endorsement deal with them. But he had deals with Regal and Ludwig.

In 1923, he released the song "It Ain't Gonna Rain No Mo'," which sold over two million copies in the United States. It was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA. The song is also considered the first musical hit on radio.

Hall was particularly fond of Martin Taropatches.

OK. So you might say to yourself (or not):

This light weight semi-comedic ukulele frivolity is all well and fine, but what about serious music? I mean like I'm into the Avante Garde, like Pierre Boulez, György Ligeti, Yoko Ono, Krzysztof Penderecki, Arnold Schoenberg, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Anton Webern, Captain Beefheart, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Milli Vanilli. Is there ukulele music for me?

Well, yes, in fact, there is.

Wasn't she on something like "America's Got Talent" or "American Idol" or "The Voice"?

Well, God bless Rayn Choi! Actually sounds like Marc Ribot on an off night.
