We all know that you can decorate guitars with turquoise, coral and onyx, and the result looks like this.

But a couple of years ago, Mrs. West and I, who some of you know love western art, saw a longhorn skull decked out like this, but my gosh at how expensive they were.

A few of you also know that Mrs. West used to make jewelry out of turquoise, coral and other semi-preious stones. Anyway, we knew where the stone wholesaler was in Dallas, so we made a couple of trips. We scored the perfect buffalo skull in Canton, and about 25 tedious hours, and a lot of gas and money later, this is what we made. He'll be a permanent fixture on our wall. I definately see why they cost so much! i'm not quite through with him yet, but was ready to see him on the wall.

Very nice! But I am surprised you didn't work a G-shield in there somewhere...

I wasn't quite sure how the G-shield would look, opted for the silver cross instead.

West, I think that skull is AWESOME!! What a great work of art! I spent the whole day hanging art myself..... finally got my lazy butt in gear and got all the artwork hung in the den. It reminded me of what an amazing artist my roomie is.... he did this skull years ago in a series. I call it Rock N' Roll Skull.... or Hot Rod Skull. Either way, who knew dead cow heads could be so fun, eh?

Nice to see creativeness. It's inspiring......

We don't see a lot of cattle skulls around here. Seems like that's more common in dry country, maybe eastern Washington.
Even then, I do believe that Cindy would balk at hanging one on the wall, artified or not.
And I have no available wall space in my office, so it would likely end up in my shop, 3 miles away!

I'm just impressed that you guys actually have "spare time."

Cheers,
Joe
