I heard a story last night about a substitute drummer who sidled up to tenor sax player Lester Young at the bar after a gig. Lester was known as a man of few words, but wanting to make points with the jazz legend, the drummer said "So Lester, when was the last time we played together?"
Lester said "Tonight."
Lester said "Tonight."
