Here's my take. He's a very good singer, and can make some great music with just bass line and his voice.

Yoko, it's good to have you posting!! I have to agree. But think of the money he saves on strings. The more strings you remove, the less dynamic the instrument becomes. He can't really vary the feel with just the one string. It's a gimmick at best.....
