I've been getting out one to two times a week and playing in some local bars. Open mic kind of stuff. My usual guitar is the Martin. Sounds great, very stable tuning and I don't worry about her. The Guild has so many battle scars, the finish is virtually worn off where my arm rest on her, she's a bit beat up. So I tend to keep her at home and let her spend her advanced years inpeace and quiet.

But, last night I took her out and she really does sound great. The Martin is loud and rumbly, with lots 'O low end. The Guild is so much brighter and crisper. I have K&K's installed in both and use a K&K preamp/E.Q. For the Martin I like to roll off the bass and boost the mids a touch. The Guild almost the opposite. Boost the bass a touch, the mids in the middle and dial back the highs. I also like a bit of reverb with the Guild, not so much with the Martin. The Guild is just a bit dry.

What's your choice of music when you 'get out' to the local bars, etc.?
Curious is as curious does, :wink:
Joe

I like to try and vary things a bit, but I do lean to the geezer, folk/rock universe.

Last nights setlist.
Tupelo Honey
Pancho and Lefty
Long May You Run
Tangled up in Blue (all of these are with a harmonica, how hokey folky is that :wink: )
Road to Ensanada
For the Good Times
and an original

Except for the 'original,' that could be my playlist. Good picks.
I've been playing around a lot with Tupelo Honey....such a sweet song! :wink:

Thanks,
Joe

Good to hear about another D35 getting a public airing :D MyMonday offering at the 'White Hart' was:
Black is the color (of my true love's hair);
Lovely on the water;
And the band played Waltzing Matilda (AKA Gallipoli)
As tears go by;
And a fifth I can't remember now (senile decay :roll: )
