Remember these things as a kid. Apparently not a great car or a great boat, but kinda neat.

Actually, doing this to test posting pictures. My first time, hope it works.

Yes, I remember those, and it brings back memories of a car I never wanted to own.

Looks like you have the pic posting technique down, so onward to guitars and/or anything else that fits!

Cheers,
Joe

Nice entry and welcome aboard from Down South...

Always thought these amphibs were kinda cool, although I don't think I'd want the headaches associated with owning one. According to their website, you can expect to pay around $80K these days for a reliable one: http://www.amphicars.com/ac4sal.htm

Unbelievably, one of those brought over $100,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction a couple of years ago!

Amphicars have very little freeboard, so taking them out on a lake in anything but calm conditions ain't smart.

A relative of a friend of mine, who lived down on the bay front in Duluth, had one of those for sale back in the early '70's. The price was like $1000 or something like that.

Sits kind of low in the water. I don't think it would handle much of a swell. Cool in a nutty way though.

It was almost perfectly restored, and the collector market was up that year. I like watching those auctions, they're pretty entertaining for a car lover just to see all the vintage metal if nothing else.
AS an Oldsmobile fan, the high point of all my viewing was seeing the Oldsmobile F88 Motorama car hit 3 mil+ about 7 years ago. At that time it was the second highest auction sale price of all time.
