I own 2 D30's as well as a D55, D25-12, JF30-12, and several Gibson acoustics (AJ, J45, J185, J185-12). The D30s are among my favorite 6 stringers. I usually reach for a D30 before my D55 which is till breaking in and growing on me.
1 of my D30's is blonde and the other is VSB. Variety is the spice of life. I find the D30's have just as much bass as the D55, but not as much sustain. This can be a good thing if you are playing leads and want clarity.
If I remember correctly, the G37 had a mahogany neck, while the D30's have maple necks.
You certainly got a great price on the D30 from EBAY. Congrats and enjoy it.
