I know I'm probably about fifteen years late getting a looper and realizing how much fun it is, but I got a TC Electronic "Ditto Looper" pedal yesterday.

I'm a digital-readout-hater and general technophobe, and that's probably what held me back previously, but this thing is SO simple and straightforward I got the hang of it in five to ten minutes. Les Paul in a box!!

Here's a silly little quickie youtube clip I made : Ditto Looper

And here's TC's page about it, with much better clips : TC's own Ditto Looper page

I have no stock in the company whatsoever, but at the stupid low price this thing sells for, it's too much fun NOT to get one!

Yup, loopers are fun. I enjoy using my TC Electronics Flashback Delay which has a looper as one of its settings.

Nice playing, Walter. What's the story with that Strat? Did you remove the middle pickup or was the guitar a custom build?

It's a Parts-O-caster. Fender MIM classic body, Allparts fat neck, custom "Toneguard" anodized alumunium two pickup 'guard, Dimarzio pickups, Gotoh hardware. Didn't cost me a lot, but it's a really nice guitar.

Cool, sounds great (the pedal and the playing!) I can't seem to find them on any large US retailer sites - one comment I saw said they'll be in stock late March. I may have to look into one - I just play at home and it might be cool to have some backup.

Jeff, looks like they took care of the European market first then? They just became available here.

Dave, that all depends on what you want from a looper. This one is extremely simple and user friendly (and tiny!!), but you do give up some features for that that other, more complicated loopers have. (like saving loops, exporting loops into computers, drum tracks,...)
This one fits my needs perfectly, but I can imagine other people wanting more features.

Wow, simple! I will watch for this one to become available.

Thank you, Walter. Nice playing, by the way. :)

Nice playing, Walter. Tech is fun when it's simple, effective, and doesn't get in the way.

This is a timely thread for me. I have been in the market for a simple, easy to use looper. Some of these get pretty complicated, pretty fast! Looks like they require a 50 page manual just to turn 'em on!

I've been drawn to the Boss RC-3 and the Digitech JamMan Solo, both at $200 US. Both are complicated

EDIT: I found one! Price is right and 10% off too. Ordered today 8)

I got the Ditto a couple days ago. It sounds really good, no processed sound to it. Very easy to use, especially for a technophobe like me

That is one groovy little device.
I also am a technophobe. The simplicity is right up my analog alley : )
Thanks Walter!
